Medical Centre

Enköping Hospital is a small hospital with approximately 540 employees. The three main functions are Internal Medicine (Medical Centre), Elective Surgery and Radiology. The hospital is located in a region that is expanding and has good transport links from the capital Stockholm and also Uppsala and Västerås. We are a health promoting hospital and works actively with continuous improvements according to Lean and Kaizen. We aim to be excellent in promoting equality and valuing diversity in the way we deliver our services and manage our employees.

The Medical Center employs approximately 340 people. The Emergency department, has with its approximately 19,000 visits per year a central role in our business since 90 percent of patients admitted to our two wards are emergency patients. The Medical Center consists of the Emergency Department, two Internal Medicine wards, an Intensive Care Unit, a Local Care center with palliative care and Geriatric Rehabilitation. There is also an outpatient clinic.

The Medical Center includes a section for cardiology which provides both inpatient and outpatient services for patients with a range of cardiac conditions, including patients with suspected or confirmed coronary heart disease, heart failure, and cardiac arrhythmias. You will work in team with cardiac nurses and biomedical assistants and participate in echocardiography and ergometry. A Cardiac Failure Team with home care is currently expanding. We have a good cooperation with the cardiology clinic at the Uppsala Academic Hospital.

Duties
You are supposed to perform normal tasks for a consultant in the field of cardiology, such as acute cardiology except interventional cardiology, outpatient visits and night time on call duty. You will also meet patients within other fields of internal medicine. Supervision of interns and resident physicians are important tasks. Together with other employees, you will participate in the development of the Medical Center.

Qualifications
We are looking for someone with specialist expertise in cardiology / internal medicine. Ability to independently carry out and evaluate echocardiography is a requirement. You have good leadership- and interpersonal skills. You are creative and have interest in development work.
We will provide education in the Swedish language if needed.
